Award for Northern Bridge Student

2nd Year PhD student Christopher Blakey presented at the recent annual conference for the Society for Christian Scholarship in Music. The conference this year was held at Baylor University, Texas, and his trip was funded by Northern Bridge. His paper, entitled ‘Music Theology and Vaughan Williams’s Sinfonia Antartica’, won the society’s graduate paper prize. Christopher’s research focusses on the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams in relation to natural theology and biological evolutionary thought. His main research interests are musical analysis, the theology of music, and the relationship between science, music, and theology.
